Red Passion Writings

A collection of short stories and poems from a queer romance writer

EVENING

It was dark when I got home
As I walked towards the house
I smelt honeysuckle in the air
A spring evening
Summer’s approaching

The heady scent of an exotic flower
Brings memories of summer back
A Queensland summer
Warm balmy nights
Twilight

As I stop to take off my shoes
I notice the crickets and cicadas chirping
Another signifier of the coming summer
